So my first attempt at trying to get into a juried show with my new work wasn't as successful as I wanted it to be. I was hoping that my work would be FRESH enough for Cora Fischer the Curator of Contemporary Art at the Southeaster Center for Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem, NC. I get it... my feelings aren't hurt! I know all the work selected by the juror should represent a good cohesive collection that reflects the taste of the juror as well as the audience of the gallery.
Artspace did something cool--before they had the juror come in, they displayed all the work that was submitted. Most places take your submission fee, say you didn't get in and you feel short changed.
At least I was able to have a fun night out with the family. My boys enjoyed seeing the work, and were excited to see Daddy's work.
